Abscisic Acid

A plant hormone that is responsible for dormancy and the inhibition of growth, among other plant development. The plant hormone abscisic acid is the major player in the mediating the adaption of the plant to stress for example: closing of the stomata, protecting cells from dehydration, root growth, seed maturation and dormancy and bud dormancy.
